Presearch launched in the summer of 2017. It was founded in Canada but it is a global project. They have team members in the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Pacific. Presearch is a decentralized, community-powered search engine that offers excellent results while respecting your privacy and rewarding you for using it.


They believe that building a framework that enables people from all over the world to work together to create an open and decentralized search engine is the best approach to break free from the enormous, centralized, and monopolistic corporations that now controls search.

Node Rewards are the rewards you receive for being a node operator

  • It's a search engine that runs on node servers operated by Presearch community members.
  • Anyone will be able to download and run the software for a node, and will thus be able to help power the decentralized Presearch Search Engine.
  • For a node operator to receive Node Rewards, they will be required to stake a minimum of 4000 PRE tokens to their node

The main use cases of PRE are

  • Searchers are given the Presearch PRE token as a perk for switching from Google and other search engines to the Presearch Engine
  • Promoters are rewarded in PRE for introducing new users to Presearch
  • Node operators are rewarded in PRE to contribute their computating resources to the platform's power grid and to aid in node security
  • PRE allows advertisers to have their adverts displayed under certain keywords that they "stake" their tokens against

All of us are constantly searching the internet, but we might not be 100% aware of the extent to which each search reveals information about us. Once this information is disclosed, we are no longer in control of it and are even unable to monitor it. Presearch prevents that loss of privacy by offering the user complete discretion over how little, if any, of their information is disclosed or maintained (with full privacy as the default).


With Presearch, users are enabled to monetize their own actions: whether or not personal information is shared, searches produce PRE tokens for the searching user. The value of the project is driven into the tokens owned by the community, creating a level playing field for all.
